Mike Woollacott

Mike is an artist living in North Devon. The local environment has become a constant source of his inspiration. The rural landscape of North Devon with its high hedgerows and narrow roads is a stimulus for Mike's art with such features as overgrown gateways and field hedgerows with majestic oak trees bordering meadows rich in grasses and wildflowers.

A personal favourite place in North Devon for Mike is the Taw Estuary. The changing light, reflections on the water and cloudscapes at different times of the year inspire Mike to capture the natural beauty of one of the South West's most iconic rivers.

Mike's visits to the splendid isolation of Lundy Island are a complementary contrast to the diverse coastal scenery of North Devon prompting a continuing development of his artistic interpretation.

Mike is a member of North Devon Arts with whom he regularly exhibits. He has work displayed in the permanent exhibition at the Broomhill Art Hotel, Gallery and Sculpture Gardens.
