One Fine Day - Oil - Box Canvas - 9.75 x 9.75 inch SOLD

The view in this painting looks out to the Bristol Channel from County Gate, Exmoor. It was a particularly fine day in August, not much wind, lots of sunshine, brilliant blue skies and great visibility. We could easily see Wales on the other side of the channel, and I loved the way the shadows of the clouds fell upon the water. It really was ‘one fine day’, as the weather leading up to it, and the days that followed, were rather overcast and dull. Painted in oils, largely with a palette knife, this painting aims to give the viewer a burst of fresh air and happiness.
